The European Urban Forum is a network made up of Members of the European Parliament that will pursue the work done by the URBAN Intergroup during the last mandates. After the Green Deal, we are aware of the importance of implementing the policies adopted on the ecological, digital and social transition in urban areas.

The 10th term must be the European legislature of CITIES: an opportunity to develop an ambitious urban policy, taking as basis initiatives such as the European Urban Agenda and the New European Bauhaus, or the work to be done to tackle the housing crisis, to promote more sustainable and inclusive cities. In view of challenges such as sustainable urban mobility, rising housing prices and the need for quality public spaces, the European Union must be a more active player in the development of urban policies.

Furthermore, it is important to highlight the need to advance on Urban governance and recall that in the mission letter of the European Commission’s EVP for Cohesion and Reforms, Raffaele Fitto, the ‘European Agenda for Cities’ has been included for the first time.

The EUF will intend to represent the defenders of the issues and priorities of cities and urban territories at the EU level, putting together actors interested in urban development an cities such as policy makers, stakeholders, organizations and companies. Urban planning, the right to the city and the importance of policies affecting the built environment will motivate the activity of this forum.

This Forum is regulated by Rule 36 of the Rule of Proceure of the European Parliament
